In India it is customary to have henna tattoos as part of the pre-wedding rituals. The henna mud is mixed with water. The longer the mud takes to dry and fall off, the longer the tattoos will last. Here are the freshly painted tattoos with the mud still wet.

As you can see by the date stamp on the picture, 15/7/97, it is three days before the wedding.
